The DIN EN 50600 standard is the first holistic approach to data center certification, covering all aspects of data center infrastructure!
Before this standard, various guidelines existed for individual components such as building construction, power supply, telecommunications cabling, security systems, and environmental conditions. However, these were not unified, requiring individual assessments for each data center project.
Recognizing the need for a comprehensive project guideline for entire data center infrastructure, the European Free Trade Organization CENELEC began developing the seven parts of the European Standard DIN EN 50600 in 2012 under the title:
"Information Technology – Data Center Facilities and Infrastructures."
